IPL FIXING: Gurunath Meiyappan found guilty, CSK in dilemma

Supreme court appointed panel has given a severe blow to Chennai Super kings just before the IPL auction whic going to be held on 12th February . CSK’s face Gurunath Meiyappan was found guilty for indulging in betting and passing information about team strategies to bookies which he is not supposed to do .India cements may also lose its team as they have violated the agreement rules. Gurunath meiyappan is also the son-in-law of BCCI chief N. Srinivasan.

On April 8 Apex court has appointed a committee which included Justice Mudgal to probe into the allegation of spot fixing and betting on a petition by Cricket Association of Bihar. Gurunath MeiyappanThe report also Said that a bookie named kitty spoke to his knowledge about Involvement of Gurunath meiyappan,vikram agarwal,Indian skipper MS Dhoni and Suresh raina in connection with match fixing. It is also said that s Sreesanth spoke about three big names in Indian cricket.

The report however said that further investigation is required on Raj kundra (Royals) who is also facing charges on match fixing and betting.  Kundra said to media” if an iota of wrong doing is found from my side,  i will give up my share” .On the other hand IPL former Chairman Lalit Modi has said it is time to Terminate contract of CSK  and demanded a ban on N. Srinivasan .

Mudgal committee has mentioned in its report that six Indian players are been accused but does not want reveal their names as they are only allegations and still need to be proved .

Former IPL chairman and IPL board member Rajeev shukla has said that IPL Auction will commence as per scheduled and they are waiting for Supreme Court’s directive. BCCI is yet to announce the schedule and venue of 7th edition IPL as there may be a chance to collide with loksabha elections. South Africa and UAE are in contention if the league has to be played outside India.
