The Indian premier league is the premiere T20 championship league of India which is under the Administration of BCCI. IPL was founded in September 2007 and the first addition was held in 2008. IPL was started with Eight franchises. Franchise including Warriors India and Kochi Tuskers entered in the middle and also made their exit due to Financial issues. There are the eight teams that are going to contest in IPL 7 2014:

  2. Delhi Daredevils, DD (84 MILLION USD)
  3. Kings XI Punjab, KXIP (76 MILLION USD)
  4. Kolkata Knight Riders, KKR (75.1 MILLION USD)
  5. Mumbai Indians, MI (111.9 MILLION USD)
  6. Rajasthan Royals, RR (67 MILLI ON USD)
  7. Royal Challengers Bangalore, RCB (111.6 MILLION USD)
  8. Sunrisers Hyderbad, SRH (159 MILLION USD)

The following three teams have played in the previous IPL series,but due to financial constraints have ceased to exist:

  1. Pune Warriors India, PWI (370 MILLION USD)
  2. Kochi Tuskers Kerala, KTK (333 MILLION USD)
  3. Deccan Chargers, DC (107 MILLION USD)

IPL 07 Schedule

IPL 7  schedule will be released on Friday. BCCI IPL panel has already stated that IPL 07 will commence on April 16th in UAE. IPL will be held in 3 phases .First phase will be in UAE, Second phase is still uncertain if its going to be held in Bangladesh or India(Depends on Government permission).

IPL 2014 Statistics

Chennai super kings has been the most successful franchise so far by winning the championship twice and reached semi final in all the editions of IPL. Suresh Raina (Chennai Super kings) is the leading run scorer with 2028 runs over 6 editions of IPL and Lasith Malinga(Mumbai Indians) with 126 wickets.

IPL 7 / 2014 Reward

IPL 07 will be splurging about 30 Crore INR as prize money. Prize money will be distrubuted as per the following..

  1. IPL-Winners – 13 Crore INR
  2. IPL-Runners-up – 8 Crore  INR
  3. Third place – 5 Crore INR
  4. Fourth place – 4 Crore INR
