Kohli pivotal for world cup

Be it subcontinent or away. Virat Kohli is the core of Indian batting. If India wants to win the world cup, kohli has to be in prime form. Its been a happy voyage for kohli through out test series but his last ODI’s were disappointing. The way he got himself out was must be haunting him. Yes,you cannot conclude a players form in two outings especially a class act like kohli. Indian former skipper Rahul Dravid has also asserted that Kohi holds the key for world cup. Proteas former skipper Grame Smith also praised Kohli for his skills and temperament on the field. He also opined that any opposition will be on back foot once he gets on top of its game.

Kohli has batted most of his Innings at No.3 and been highly successful. But he is coming at No.4 in this triangular series which has not been joyous ride so far. He was dismissed for 9,4 in his consecutive outings. If this is the plan for world cup then India might have to pay a heavy price. Its a rule of thumb in one day cricket,your best batsman should should be able to play most of the deliveries. Even if Number 3 batsman clicks,its not certain if kohli delivers at number 4. Apart form Dhoni ,Raina India doesn’t have a proper batsman to finish.

At this juncture Virat Kohli is not in form,but one or two good knocks will get him into touch. India can manage league stage with out him in form. Having minnows in the group will help India to secure a birth in quarters with minimal efforts. From then his form becomes crucial. He should have been acclimatized to Aussie conditions by now as its been two months since he stepped into Australia. He faced 10 balls yesterday and looked very edgy.

Rohit’s place at the top is certain. But the question is,who will pair him. Shikhar Dhawan has been in disastrous form. Bowling has always contributed to India’s failure. If team has to compensate its weak link bowling,batsman have to put some extra runs on board.
