India being defending champion has strong reasons to believe themselves as one of favorites for word cup 2015.They are already at the venue for two months and have the advantage of being acclimatized .They should have assessed pitch conditions to an extent by now. Triangular series just before the world cup will give India a good chance vet their players skills and asses their strengths and weaknesses. At the same time they should also keep in mind that their players wont be exhausted by the time of world cup as it can cause fitness issues.
England has also the same advantage as India .They are in Australia for the triangular series under their new skipper Eoin Morgan. Eoin Morgan has been a successive T20 skipper and would be interesting to see how he would handle in 50 over format. Cook has been axed from the side after giving pathetic results in 2014.Being the inventor of cricket England has never won world cup and their chances this time are also looking bleak.
Australia are clear favorites for the title and they are the most successful team in the ICC world cup tournaments. The are 1987,99,03,07 champions .They may not be as strong as their previous entourages but they have the advantage of playing at home. Their Skipper Clarke is facing fitness issues just before world cup which would a blow for them if he doesn’t take part.
Srilanka, NZ,WI, SA are also indulged in serious practice. Minnows UAE, Scotland,Ireland are also playing triangular series in Dubai. Their target might not be to win the world cup but to send a strong message in cricketing circuit about their skills.
