Both teams South Africa and Sri Lanka look to start the tournament on a wining note. Before the start of the game Sri lanka are the clear favorites but, in T20 format you can expect anything.SA and SL are in Group A which is easier group than Group B as they have England and NZ as other teams and qualifier. Injury problems is concerning South Africa as Dale Steyn is not available. As always SA heavily depended on AB DE Villers. Unavailbility of Steyn is a loss but they have formidable bowling attck with Morkel brothers, Tsotsobe, Wayne Parnell and spinners Aron Phangiso and Imran Tahir. Recently SA had miserable home series against AUS which is demoralizing thing.
Looking into the Sri Lankan side they are high in confidence level by winning Asia cup. They have a strong bowling line up and promising batting line up. They have advantage in climatic conditions as they have well acclimatized to climate. Kusal Perrera at the top is in form of his life .Jayawardene and Sangakara are the main players and they make middle order stronger. Skipper Chandimal ,Angelo Matthews and Thisers perrera can hit the ball long way. Lasith Malinga will lead the bowling attack who is very hard o score against. Suranga Lakmal and Kulasekera are also in good touch. They have a very good spin attack with Mendis, Senanayke and coditions suiting them will make SL favourites as SA not good at tackling spin.
